Upcoming Tours

Summer 2012:

We are in the process of planning a very special trip next year. We passionately believe that everybody should be able to have the opportunity to visit Ghana and Hand in Hand. So in 2012 we will be running a tour which caters specifically for people with access needs or specific support requirements. Places are limited for this special tour but please get in touch if you would be interested in participating. We are also looking for volunteers to support tour members on this trip. Please get in touch for further details by emailing contact@handinhanduk.org.

Ghana is a relatively undiscovered tourist destination. It is a developing country with a vibrant history hugely linked to that of the UK. It has a great deal to offer the modern traveller. Visit the moving slave forts of the colonial era, walk in the canopy walkway of the rainforest and experience Africa’s only walking safari at Mole National Park. A detailed route and list of sites is available on request. Click on the ‘Previous Tours’ page to view a typical itinerary. On a Hand in Hand Tour however the most exciting and rewarding part of your Ghana experience will be staying at the Hand in Hand community. Here you will see for yourself the vital and brilliant work being done.

On the trip we spend 5 days at Hand in Hand. During this time you will get to know the children and the care-givers, and through observation and conversation perhaps deepen your understanding of Ghana and Ghanaian culture. This is the truly unique and special aspect of a Hand in Hand Tour.
